1st National Law & Governance Essay Competition

The Centre for law & Governance, ILNU is proud to announce its 1st National Law & Governance essay Competition. As an aspiration to stimulate its aim of proliferating new thoughts and research skills, the competition is designed to motivate students and young professionals to apply their tenderfoot genius to the complex world of Legal governance. The encouragement received during the various exercises conducted, has prompted the need to incorporate an incentive based activity which would both promote as well as edify the fundamentals amongst the participants. The endeavour, being the institute's first, has inspired us to reward the deserving author with a certificate & various prizes. Themes: 1.) Judicial Accountability Bill – Need & Consequences 2.) Right to Information Act – Analysis & activism 3.) Inference of Lokpal & Lokayukta – Transparency and accountability 4.) Evolving Role of CAG in ensuring transparency & accountability 5.) Impact of promotion in SC/ST & OBC quota in public employment 6.) Social Networking websites vis-à-vis Art. 19(1)(a) of the Constitution 7.) Role of Communication & Communication Management in Law Prizes 1.) 1st Prize - Rs. 10,000 2.) 2nd Prize - Rs. 7,000 3.) 3rd Prize - Rs. 5,000 4.) 4th prize - Rs. 3,000 5.) 5th prize - Rs. 2,000 2 General consolation Prize - 1000 3 exclusive 1st year student prize - Rs. 1000 All prizes are being sponsored by Shree Ram Group & Comp. and the cheque of prizes shall be sent by courier. Important Dates 1.) Last Date of submission of essay - 12 November, 2012 2.) Result declaration - 30 November, 2012 3.) Dispatchment of certificates - 05 December, 2012 Eligibility Any undergraduate law student (3 years/5 years course) & L.L.M can participate in the competition. No more than 2 authors can participate together. Participation Fees Every participant of the essay competition has to submit the Demand Draft of 200 Rs. in the name of 'Institute of Law under Nirma University, payable at Ahmadabad.
