The year 2015 marks the 25th anniversary of the entry into force of the United Nations
Convention on the Rights of Child (UN CRC). The National Law University and Judicial
Academy, Assam (NLUJAA) in partnership with United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF),
Assam Field Office is launching the Centre for Child Rights (CCR) at National Law
University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA). The Centre is to act as a knowledge
hub for Assam as well as other North- Eastern states of India in anchoring and facilitating
various child rights related activities.
On this momentous occasion of signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and
formal inauguration of the Centre for Child Rights (CCR), both the institutions are jointly
organizing a one-day Conference on PROTECTION OF RIGHTS OF CHILDREN:
ISSUES AND CHALLENGES to commemorate this significant development.
